About the Author

A little bit about my writing journey:

I wrote some Children's stories a few years ago while recovering from back surgery. I self published my first book in 2009 through Little Steps Publishing, called ‘Saving Water’, and my marketing strategy at the time was to let the sales take care of themselves. Largely hopeful, partly shy, and mostly just a woman with stories to tell who wasn't comfortable outside my comfort zone! I am a much better creator than I am a marketer and I had a huge fear of being seen. While I did sell plenty of books, and received some wonderful feedback, I had hoped it would gain momentum on its own without having to draw too much attention to myself. In the end, I donated the last box I had to the Aboriginal Literacy and Numeracy Foundation and found myself another office job, pushing my creativity and confidence to the side.

During my recovery time from the surgery, I wrote around 16 Children's stories that sat in a folder until recently. Some stories still have merit and relevance just needing a rework, and other's can just stay in the folder forever!

Fast forward to today, and having been presented with many life lessons since then - some successful, others not so much, but ALL of them taught me some really valuable stuff - I am here to be seen and to launch my second book.

I constantly have ideas pop into my head about a great teachable topics for kids, so stay tuned for what comes next. Oh, and if you have a topical idea and like my style of writing, send me an email  - you could appear in the credits!

With so much love, Nicola xx
